Original Question: ADUCRF101 Software and Application framework; Mesh Network in Sub-GHz by ijaz
Hi,
We were looking for Sub-1-GHz Low Cost Low Power Mesh Network Solution, MCU + RF transceiver integrated. ADUCRF101 is under consideration for the same.
I could find that, 6LoWPAN is the only open standard that supports ‘mesh’ in Sub-GHz RF band.
Could you please clarify the following points to proceed with module selection:
- Does ADUCRF101 has a supported 6LoWPAN software stack?
- As we don’t require IP driven nodes and due to lack of IPv6 support, is it possible to create a mesh network with the software package for monitoring application with out internet connectivity. That is only local data exchange between devices inside the 6LoWPAN
I would be grateful for any comments or suggestions. Thank you

Hi
Can you be specific about the data rate requirement of your metering application? The EVAL-ADUCRF101 is used as Border Router in the demo kit. The AD6LoWPAN software package mentioned in the above post is built for the EVAL-WSN kits shown below.

Hi,
The AD6LoWPAN stack is supported on ADuCRF101 controller. Local mesh network can be formed without internet connectivity and data can be exchanged between nodes. The “AD6LoWPAN Software – ADuCRF101 (Rev 1.0)” package can be downloaded from the software section of the below path.
The package contains the ADWSN-UI tool, used to configure the nodes and monitor the sensor data received from the Nodes at Border Router locally. I suggest you to download and install the package and refer to “AD6LoWPAN-All-in-One-GettingStartedGuide_v1.0” provide in the Docs folder of the installed directory, hope this helps.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Our requirement is for metering application. So the above said evaluation setup does not match I feel. We are going to use a separate metering IC for the same.
Does the below EVAL kit suits our application?
EVAL-ADUCRF101 Evaluation Board | Analog Devices
Also could you please confirm whether AD6LoWPAN Software runs on the above said EVAL kit.
