Configuring ADRV9009 evaluation board for 204.8MHz

I am using the ADRV9009 evaluation board. I would like to reconfigure the board to use 204.8MHz sampling clock. A simple change to the AD9528 configuration allows this frequency to be achieved with the 122.88MHz VCXO.

I create a profile as follows (I have also attached a zip of the files produced):

I also updated the device tree to accommodate these changes. I have attached the system_user.dtsi file.

When the Petalinux boots, I get the following error printed out:

Please can you provide guidelines on how I must set the configuration tool or how I must update my device tree settings to support my requested configuration.

I have seen other posts where customers have asked similar questions about the framer/deframer lane rate and the response was effectively 'try different frequencies until you find one that works'. Unfortunately that is not an option here because the frequencies are fixed so please can you provide guidelines on how I must configure the TX path so that the RX path can be operated at 204.8MHz. The RX path is currently the most important and so any changes needed to get the TX path to work will be fine for now.

    The VCXO and the REF_CLK should be an integer multiple of each other. If you want to use a ref_Clk of 204.8MHz, then you need to change the ON board VCXO to an integer multiple of it. Also, it is not recommended to change any setting in the profile that is generated from the filter wizard tool. You should load  the profile as it is generated from GUI.

    1) Please confirm that this is only a limitation of using the ADRV9009 evaluation board?

    2) If I am using custom hardware that does not use the AD9528 PLL, will I be able to generate a profile that works at 204.8MHz with 204.8MHz REF_CLK to the ADRV9009 and 204.8MHz reference clock to the JESD204B cores? The custom hardware uses an HMC7044 to generate all the various clock frequencies.

    3) If so, how must I use the Talise configuration wizard to generate this profile? Please can you show me what the frequencies need to be and what needs to be checked/unchecked because the custom hardware does not use an AD9528 PLL.

    It is not possible to generate a profile for the hardware that doesnot use AD9528 using Talise configuration wizard. You can generate a profile with the required DEV_CLK by setting the VCXO frequency appropriately in the wizard, but in that case too, the profile will be generated with AD9528 settings incorporated and all the cloks calculated accordingly.

    Yes. You should be able to do that by using the same settings. You can try initializing the same, but make sure that the dev_clk frequency input to the chip matches with the one mentioned in the file.
