ADRV9002 - Second order harmonic distortion measurement


I am planning to evaluate ADRV9002 eval board using TES GUI V.0.14.0. Following details are my conditions:  Receiver = 40 MHz bandwidth, I/Q rate = 61.44 MHz, device clock = 38.4 MHz, internal LO is used for all measurements, carrier frequency= 140MHz to 3GHz. I came across a graph in datasheet showing the second order harmonic distortion vs. Gain Index as shown below. Can you please let me know the input power level (of the carrier frequency) at Rx port that is considered for this below measurement ?

Also, I am aware that low-IF mode under WB condition (>1MHz BW) is not possible to evaluate using TES as of now. Hence, I am planning to carry out the measurement in zero-IF mode.

    Hi Sathya,

    More details on the measurements you're interested in are provided in Table 2:

    The input power level is at -20dBm.

    Note: We use an external filter to filter the Signal generator harmonics for the Rx HD2/HD3 measurement. Make sure you do the same in your measurements, otherwise you will never get Navassa datasheet specs.

    Thank you for the response. Also, since the mentioned test condition is "-20 dBm I/P power CW tone at 5.6MHz" , please let me know whether the following frequencies are set correctly, for example:

    1. Carrier frequency = 140MHz is set at carrier frequency tab in TES GUI

    2. CW signal at 145.6MHz with -20dBm  power is to be provided as input at Rx port

    3. Channel B.W is set at 40MHz and gain index is set at 255 for 0dB attenuation.

    Please let me know whether the above setup is correct for the required test condition.
