EVAL-ADRV9002 ZCU702 External LO

Hello.

I have an EVAL-ADRV9002 + ZCU702 running on TES 0.14.0.

Set EXTLO1 900MHz on the surface of the following TES image.

I input 900MHz to the connector of EXT_LO1 from ADF4372.

Then the following message is output and the program ends in failure

remote procedure call returned non-zero error code.
error source 0, error number 8960, recovery action -2, in function adi_adrv9001_cals_initcals_run, on line 105, error message:
error occured during an init calibration. check that no signal is being applied to the rx ports.
check that correct external los are applied , and synchronized, where appropriate.

Troubleshooting 
(1):
If a signal generator is connected to an Rx input, make sure it is turned off.
(2):
Click File --> Force Update Platform and then try again. If This does not resolve the issue, please document your steps to get to this point and contact our support staff for further assistance.


I tried troubleshooting but none of them improved the situation
(1) It was confirmed that the SG signal was not connected to the RX input.
(2) The same result was obtained even after executing Force Update Platform.

    Hello Ryo,

    There a re a few things I would recommend trying:

    1. Updating TES and SD card image to latest releases. TES v0.14 did not support the ZCU102, that platform has only become support recently. Updating may fix some issues for you.
    2. Synchronising the LO to the Device Clk. If you have a second signal generator on hand, set the Clk selector switch on the EVB to External, connect your second signal generator and sync it to the LO signal generator.
    3. Attempt to use the Internal LO first as a proof of concept. This should eliminate the possibility of there being a different issue in the setup that you're not aware of, or pinpoint where it is if it exists.

    Do give these bits of debug a try and let us know how you get on.

    The description of the correct evaluation board combination is EVAL-ADRV9002 + ZC706.

    Should I try the bits presented in this combination as well ?

    Not to worry, I would still attempt the debug steps outlined above. It's likely that one of them will fix the issue, but if they don't fix anything they should highlight where the issue is.

    Sorry for being late. 

    I tried the suggested bits and it worked, so I will report it.

    1. There was no change in the situation.

    2. I used the EVAL-ADF4351 to synchronize the clock I was able to confirm the operation by putting it in EXT_LO and DEV_CLK_IN.

    3. Operation was confirmed in the internal LO.
