ZC706+ADRV9002 use TES connection failure

Hi EZ,

Ping is good, Server B0 has been manually started.

But the TES keep failed to conncect.

    In short, your issue will be in 1 of 3 places:

    1) Laptop

    2) FPGA

    3) ADRV9002

    The easiest place to begin is the laptop. Make certain that the ethernet connection is exactly as specified in the User Guide. If everything is okay on this front, and there's no security software interfering with the TES connection, then try completely removing TES from the laptop and reinstalling it from scratch. Sometimes an error can cause a TES installation to perceive an issue that isn't there anymore.

    Next is the FPGA. When using the TES boot image the LED's next to the switch behave in a very specific way, make certain this is observed. If it is, and the fan is spinning, then at the very least we know the FPGA is booting up. Part of our TES image forces the LVDS interface to operate outside of its specifications, as the LVDS interface on the ADRV9002 requires 1.8V logic. You'll know that this requirement is being met when the Red LED at the bottom of the ADRV9002 card witches off after FPGA boot up. Make sure you observe this. There are other issues that may be occurring on the FPGA, please refer to the linked thread for more possibilities.

    The device itself is probably the hardest to debug. Typically speaking, if something is wrong on the daughter card, it implies that something is damaged. Usually the behavior of the failure indicates what is damaged. Again refer to the linked thread for more details on that front.

    Based on the details you've provided I do not believe that ADRV9002 is damaged. If the B0 server is starting successfully using the "./Adi.Adrv9002.B0.Server" command, then there is likely no issue with the hardware. I do note in your images that the server listed in C0, not B0. Be aware that these are incompatible, the B0 server will not function on C0 silicon, and vice-versa. Additionally, the C0 server will only work with the very latest release of TES, which can be downloaded at https://www.analog.com/en/products/adrv9002.html 

    Please carefully ensure that all above considerations are met, attempt the debug steps provided here and read the linked thread for extra info if needed. If you have more unanswered questions feel free to reply below.

  • The problem has been solved, the problem was GUI download from web is ver. 14. And SD card image from web is ver.12.

    A ver.12 GUI that was downloaded before helps to solve this problem.

    Also make sure the ADRV9002 board is plugged into the correct FMC slot on the ZC706.  Plugging the ADRV9002 into the other FMC slot will give you these exact same results that you've shown in your question.  The proper slot is the LPC connector (J5) closest to the SD card as per the User Guide.
