AD9082 TX/RX 8Ghz

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: AD9082

What does "Useable analog bandwidth to 8 GHz" mean as stated in the datasheet?
Can I use the AD9082's TX/RX frequencies up to 8Ghz?

Thank you.

  • Hello,

It refers to the usable analog bandwidth of the ADC and DAC as shown in the frequency response (for different balun types) shown in Figure 36 for the ADC and Figure 88 for the DAC.  While the signal is response shows some notable loss in the upper bandwidth,  the inclusion of a gain block can compensate for this loss and still may be give acceptable AC performance for certain applications that still prefer to support direct RF conversion over an extended frequency range.
