I have my ADRV9361 SoM on the ADRV1CRR-BOB that I've acquired form the link. For prototyping purposes I would like to bring in an external clock to the AD9361. I found this pin on JX4-63, net name AD9361_CLK. When I went to follow this pin on the Break-out Carrier, first I saw in the schematic and board files info I found here that the JX4-63 is just a pad and has no trace. Okay, fine, so I'll carefully add a wire for now.
However, on the board I purchased from Digikey, I can see a via next to the JX4-63, which does not seem to be present in the Allegro board file on the link above. I am reluctant to attach a wire if I don't know where the via/trace goes. Does anyone know where the correct documentation is for my board, or perhaps can answer where this net may go? The markings on my BOB are "BD-PZSDRCC-BRK-G" and below that "08-039931 REV C".
Is there an explanation on how to connect an external clock to the BOB carrier board?
Looking at the schematic of the BOB and the ADRV9361 there is no connection between the AD9361_CLK net to the JX4 pin 63.
Pins 61, 65 are connected to Ground, so is a connection of a wire for CLK be possible?
In the SoM schematic, there is a TCXO connected on board and it seems that one can choose to use it.
The TCXO signal goes through the ADG772 mux and you might need to add R5 as a 50Ohm termination resistor (version C).
Can the Y4 socket be used for the CLK input for the SoM? What will be the maximum frequency? Any other considerations or suggestions on how to use an external CLK using the BOB carrier card?
