ADRV9026 SERDES recommendations and debugging

  • For use cases operating at 25G, ADI recommends the following based on the number of lanes used –
    • If L = 1 (on the deframer side), Lane A is recommended.
    • If L = 2 (on the deframer side), Lane A and Lane C are recommended to minimize crosstalk possibilities.
    • If L = 4 (on the deframer side), all lanes should be used.
    • If L = 1 (on the framer side), Lane A is recommended.
    • If L = 2 (on the framer side), Lane A and Lane C are recommended to minimize crosstalk possibilities.
    • If L = 4 (on the framer side), all lanes should be used.
    • If L = 1 (on one framer side) and L=2 (on second framer side), Lane A can be used for one framer and lanes B and C can be used for the second framer. This set up can be used for non-link sharing profiles.
  • The user can use ADRV9026 internal eye monitor to get an idea of the signal integrity of the link. This feature is listed in the section ‘SPO (STATIC PHASE OFFSET) TEST TO VERIFY EYE WIDTH’ in the user guide. It also includes a sample script that can be used to get the eye width inside the chip.
