Can ADPD188BI be used to detect just cigarette smoke and reject the other types of smoke?
On behalf of James Frame:
In a quick and not exhaustive search, cigarette smoke has very small particles. You should be able to separate cigarette smoke from smokes with larger particles, but may have issues with things like burning wood or certain types of cooking smoke, which also generate very small particles. If you are looking at things like nonsmoking compliance, the detection of any smallish particle is probably of concern, even if not from a cigarette. I don’t have a study of cooking smoke handy, but I think the NFPA may have commissioned one recently that isn’t too hard to get.
