6/1/16: not all noise sources are filtered the same way

When referring noise to the input how does one take into account that not all noise sources are filtered the same way?

  • If you use the RMS noise in your calculations instead of the spectral density, then the bandwidth that filters the noise source is already taken into account. In that case, you can add the noise sources referred-to-input or referred-to-output without having to worry about their different bandwidths. Slide 24 has an example about this.
