In the analysis for the 2-18 GHz frequency conversion you recommended an up/down approach. The system I am developing requires coverage to 40 GHz. Would this be handled in the same way?
Answer: It very much depends on the system requirements and the resultant frequency planning but the best approach normally is to block downconvert to the 2-18 GHz range and use the same tuner to convert to the IF band used by the A/D converter. ADI has components to facilitate this block conversion.
