GMSL is a strong alternative or replacement to the existing GigE Vision solutions. Compared to GigE Vision cameras, GMSL cameras often can provide equivalent or better link rate and features at a lower cost, lower power consumption and simpler system architecture. Moreover, since GMSL was originally designed for automotive applications, it has been validated by automotive engineers in harsh environments for decades.
