Is there any specific need why customers should upgrade their systems?
Typical 4-20mA or 0-10V communication interfaces between actuators and DDC’s only allow unidirectional communication and limits speed of communication. Single Pair Ethernet enables a higher bandwidth bi-directional link which allows richer configuration and diagnostic information[KM5] over the same wiring as the existing interface. Reuse of the existing wiring makes it easy to upgrade from 4-20mA and 0-10V solutions to 10BASE-T1L Single Pair Ethernet. Some customers want to expand their solution by using different types of motors for their edge devices/Dampers. However, this can make the development process more complex, requiring specific software and possibly hardware for each motor type. By using the Trinamic TMC5130 and enabling features like StallGuard and CoolStep, customers can simplify their development process, reduce their software and hardware costs[WM6] , and create a more compact PCB design for motor control. They can also use the same hardware to control different motor types by implementing the appropriate configurations, such as IHOLD_IRUN and velocity values.
