The sensor is designed to be mounted directly to an asset. Using the mechanical block, this mounting is made easier between the sensor and the asset. Typically a new tap is drilled into a location or inserted to an existing hole located on the asset, where the sensor will gather the data. So the distance between the sensor and the asset should be as close and securely as possible, providing the most useful data. Cables of several hundred meters length can be used without a loss of signal quality.
