A2B Transceivers to detect or correct bit errors

You mentioned A2B can be used through Ethernet to edge sensors to devices like accelerometers. Typical automotive applications making use of Accels require very low BER. I imagine a long UTP cable like 15m between nodes at 50Mbps way be susceptible EMC. Do the A2B transceivers have a mechanism to detect or correct bit errors? Or will this need to be managed outside of the A2B network?

  • The A2B transceivers do have built-in support for bit errors. Each data slot has a parity bit appended to it, and any node set to consume that slot checks the parity bit when reading it from the bus. Bit error thresholds are programmable on each transceiver and can optionally generate an interrupt to the host when they are exceeded.
