Any similar projects for Boost Converters?
On behalf of Anthony Armstrong:
The Silent Switcher technology can also be applied in a boost mode topology. I am sure you know that with boost converters, the internal switching in a monolithic die can be very large – depending on how much output current is needed by the load. Which is why we have a broad offering of boost controllers. That said, we do have a few monolithic silent switcher boost converters in development (typically have less than 3A outputs). That said, one example is our LT3922 - a monolithic, synchronous, step-up DC/DC converter with internal 40V, 2A power switches and an internal PWM generator. Its fixed frequency peak current mode control accurately regulates current within ±2% for a string of LEDs up to 34V. Its integrated PWM generator offers up to 128:1 dimming ratio. If dimming ratios of up to 5,000:1 are required, the LT3922 and an external PWM generator can accommodate these applications. The LT3922’s 2.8V to 36V input voltage range is ideal for a wide range of applications, including automotive, industrial and architectural lighting. The combination of a Silent Switcher topology and spread spectrum frequency modulation minimizes EMI concerns.
