On behalf of Thomas Cameron: Yes, the hybrid beamformer that I showed in the webcast was the sub-array approach. Here we are launching one beam per data stream (ie: each upconverter drives a single subarray and transmits one data stream). Each subarray can connect to a single user in any given timeslot. So, if we have 8 subarrays, we can handle 8 users in a timeslot. However, you can move the beams in subsequent time slots and cover 8 different users. There are algorithms that work in conjunction with the scheduler to move the beams where required.
