The III-V reference calls out the group from which the elements sit on the periodic table. The most popular material from the II-V group is GaAs, but there are others such as GaN and InP that fit in this group. In the webinar, the III-V refers to the GaAs and GaN based amplifiers in contrast to those on silicon based materials.
