C²B addresses the 3 major connectivity issues facing automotive customers: Cost, EMC performance and Cable Routing
Cost: Traditional HD camera connectivity is achieved using expensive coax cable and connectors. C2B transmits HD video over a UTP cable infrastructure which is typically 30% lighter and significantly less expensive than coax. C2B's low system cost is enabling multi-camera applications such as surround view monitoring, driver monitoring and drive recording in entry level and mid-end vehicles.
EMC: Transporting high bandwidth video around the vehicle creates significant EMC challenges. C²B uses optimized video encoding, differential signalling, and internal filtering to deliver the most robust EMC performance on UTP infrastructure.
Cable Routing: Car OEMS find it increasingly difficult to route the camera cables around the vehicle. Traditional coax cables have a low bend ratio and may break over time. UTP cables are more flexible particularly for compact vehicles. C²B also supports up to 30m cable lengths for bus or large SUV applications.
