    MEMS vibration sensors are enabling new and improved CbM capabilities with important performance improvements over piezo sensors. MEMS sensor advantages include the fact that they are significantly smaller, they deliver improved performance, particularly at low frequencies, and they are lower power, which can be very important in wireless battery applications. They enable higher levels of integration as MEMS vibration technology can be integrated with signal conditioning and edge processing. They offer longer term reliability benefits as they have built-in self-test and have improved sensitivity and linearity over piezo sensors. And finally, they are a most cost-effective solution, allowing vibration sensing to be deployed on higher volume, lower cost assets.
