    The analog front end includes an electronic filter that rejects DC and low frequency signals. The device uses short pulses (single us), and records the ambient light before each pulse and removes it from the measurement. A plot below is the typical rejection vs. frequency. The biggest challenges tend to be fluorescent lights with noisy ballasts.
