The output voltage will drop if Vin drops below the minimum Vin value. If Vin continues decreasing below the required minimum input voltage, the output will drop much faster and it’s behavior is not guaranteed. Note that there can be damage sustained by the MAX6071 if Vout exceeds Vin (refer to the Absolute Maximum Ratings section in the MAX6071 datasheet).
