Question
I need more informations about AD790 please.
Can you give me:
-Differential Input Resistance (Rin)
-Voltage Gain (Av)
-Output Leakage Current (Ileak)
-Offset Voltage Adjustment Range
Answer
Hello Alexandre,
AD790 is a very old part. Unfortunately we do not have more information than those mentioned in the data sheet. Please find my answers below for yourquestions.
1. In general, we do not define gain for a comparator. But, please remember that even though the gain is high, the voltage gets the clamped to Vlogicand GND levels in the output levels. Could you please give me more information on why would you need this information?
2. Please refer to the input impedance mentioned in the data sheet under the specifications table for the input resistance.
3. Unfortunately we do not have the information about the leakage current.
4. I am not sure what exactly do you mean offset voltage adjustment range. Please note that offset value mentioned in the specifications is theaverage ofthe "rising and falling" thresholds. If you consider Figure 6 in the data sheet, if you have the inverting input grounded, and from zero volts ifyou increase the signal at the +IN, the rising threshold is the voltage level at the +IN pin that causes the output to go high. From a high state, the falling threshold is the voltage level at the +IN that causes the output to go back low when you start to decrease it. The offset voltage is theaverage of these two thresholds, and this helps in avoiding unwanted toggling of the output due to ground bounces or slight movements in the +INsignal.
