Question
I would like to use an ADR3450 in order to build a 300mA, high precision, 5V
voltage regulator.
How can use it, if the maximun input voltage is really 5.5V (6V in absolute
maximum ratings)?
Answer
The ADR3450 would need an input voltage of 5.2 to 5.5V. Its output current is
only 10mA. If you want to build a precision regulator that drives 300mA, you
would need much more circuitry. I think you should first consider one of our
regulators like the ADP7102. It has an accuracy of -2% to 1% and can supply
300mA.
