RE: PDN # M000869
All versions of MAX6033 shown in the data sheet are either leaded or # denoting some lead (internal bumps material). Parts are now on the Product Discontinuance List (PDN) list
The G16 suffix denotes flip-chip parts with tin-lead (SnPb) solder bumps internal to the package, and lead(Pb)-free lead frame (100% matte tin plating over copper lead frame). Our vendor has notified Maxim that they will not be supporting the leaded process that come with the parts that are in PDN list, they will support until Dec 31st, 2018.
The problem is that the pre-released parts are undergoing qualification (for lead free package at new vendor) which make take up to 20 weeks. (from 5/22/18)
In the past there have been efforts to qualify a lead free version but for some reason the qual failed.
There is no guarantee that these parts will pass qual now which means we will not be able to advertise and offer these pre-released parts for now.
To be safe, please assume these parts will be PDN without a replacement despite the fact that qualified SOT parts may be possible in the future.
