Suggestion for negative Vref

Dear Sir/Madam,

Our customer is searching the following Vref or precision LDO.

Input: +5V +/-5%, or -5V +/-5%
Output: -4.096V +/-0.1%
Output Current: 18mAmax
Temp.: 0 to 105C

I could not catch this Negative Vref on your web pages.

So do you have the way for this requirement include the small circuit?

Thanks Kaos

  • Hi Kaos,

We have only two references capable of negative output voltages at this time. These are the AD688 (+/- 10V) and the AD588 (+/- 10V, +/-5V). Neither are capable of a direct -4.096 V output.

A simple circuit for generating a negative reference is to connect the output of the reference to an inverting amplifier with a gain of 1. Precision resistors will be required to maintain the overall temperature coefficient of the circuit. See example below.

I would recommend the ADR45xx for the lowest drift performance and the ADR44x for the lowest noise performance.

    Regards,

    Rob
