Poor output accuracy

Hi, it looks like you do not have an output capacitor on OUTF. A capacitor between 0.1uF and 10uF is required.

See image below from datasheet page 21.

The load is purely resistive, approximately 5 kOhm. There are no transients, 30 second circuit stabilization time allowed prior to measurement. Why would a capacitor make a difference?

Transient/noise benefits aside, MAX6070 was designed to be used with an output capacitor. Failing to include a capacitor or using a capacitance outside the recommended 0.1uF to 10uF can lead to the reference being only marginally stable or instable, which can cause VOUT to settle to the incorrect output voltage.

You are correct. I have applied a 0.1 uF, 100V, X7R capacitor to the output and it has now settled at 2.499V.
