Voltage Reference based Current Source

Category: Hardware
Product Number: ADR381

I am using a cascode pair of JFETS with an ADR381 to make a 4mA constant current source.

This is a classic circuit that works fine with other pin compatible voltage references.

In my working circuit:

Vout - GND is 2.50V, Vin is 3.4V when loaded.

If I use the ADR381, then

Vout - GND is 1.60V, Vin is 0V when loaded.

If the circuit is open, then

Vout is  1.0V in the working circuit and 1.6V in the ADR381

Vin = 0V which makes sense with the FETs cutoff.

I can't see why the ADR381 fails in this circuit. Any suggestions, explanations or simple fixes would be appreciated. I own a lot of ADR381 parts right now.
