HDCP detection on ADV7623 -P (non-HDCP part)

You can read HDMI map register 0x5[6]. If this bit is 1, the stream processed by HDMI core is HDCP encrypted, otherwise not.

Wow I can't believe I missed that register.  I'll give it a try.

Well I tried it. The HDMI map register 0x5[6] remains 0 (not HDCP encrypted) regardless if the source is outputting HDCP or not.  Is it possible this is occurring because I am using the -P part (i.e. no HDCP)?

Again the idea is to have an on-screen message on the sink running in free run to tell the user their source is HDCP and won't work (if that's what they have connected).

Based on HDMI protocol, source doesn’t send HDCP encrypted because source doesn’t get BKSV from ADV7623 as you use p part.

First part of authentication failure happens

That’s why you are seeing HDMI map register 0x5[6] remains 0
