About EVAL-ADV3227

Hi,

I would like to seek clarification regarding ' Switching Control' of EVAL ADV-3226.

We are using our own software and would like control the switching through it.

Can it be controlled through discrete signals (TTL), if not serial?

Also, kindly confirm whether your application works in Windows 7.

Thanks and regards,
Arshad S,

    Hi, Arshad S.

I had not tried programming the crosspoint switches particularly the ADV3227 using a TTL. I only tried using LabVIEW with SDP-B (I used SPI protocol) and it works in all operating systems such as Windows 7.

The released software, that can be downloaded on this link ADV3226_ADV3227 Design Support Files, is only applicable for Windows XP. We will be releasing soon a new board that is compatible to an SDP-B and with a LabVIEW-based software.

As to your question if the ADV3227 can be controlled by a TTL, I'll get back to you on this.

    Regards,

    Anna

    Hi, Arshad S.

I guess your question is 'can the ADV3227 be programmed via parallel?" then the answer to this is YES. Page 22 of the datasheet shows the method to do this.

The table of the logic level shown on page 5 of the datashet is also applicable to parallel thus a TTL level such as TTL high = 3.3V or 5V and a TTL low = 0V can be used.

    Regards,

    Anna
