Chip ID for ADV7341 and ADV7311

Question

I just wondering if it possible to read any register which shows what kind of encoder is installed on a board? Right now we replacing ADV7311 with newer ADV7341 . Ideally there would be one software load that would recognize which chip is installed and program the chip accordingly.
