ADV7441a CVBS in BT.1120 out

Yes this was based on the scripts from the design support files page.

Since the replacement part doesn't meet our temperature requirements we had to use the ADV7441A. Unless there is now an extended temperature range (-40 -> +85) version of the ADV7842?

Hi Jamie,

ADV7441A is classified as "Not Recommended for New Designs" and has been for several years. As such technical support for this product is pretty much limited to the content that has been posted on EngineerZone.

Are you using the scripts that we posted in the ADV7441A design support files page?

Thanks it looks like the ADV7181D might have been good as we aren't using HDMI input. Unfortunately the boards are already made and working (for HD). So a bit late for a re-design...

Finally got this working. Very simple in the end. From reset state set:

reg 0x00 to 0x0e as I have CVBS connected to Ain10 so you may need to change this depending on connection

reg 0x03 to 0x0c to enable output as 8 bit 422 (bt.656)

reg 0x1d to 0x40 is crucial to set the crystal frequency 28.63636MHz in this case

Now it works!
