AD9823 Timing

Question

I am looking into the AD9823 and have a question about the timing diagram shown on pg. 6 of the data sheet. The waveform for DATAOUT is not clear in my understanding. I do not see the correlation between the signal beginning to slew low and then slew back to settled state and how that relates to the CCD signal and the SHP, SHD commands. Can you clarify this for me?
