Support for GMSL2 bring‑up DMS Camera – MAX96712 (DES) + MAX96717 (SER)

Dear ADI Support Team,

We are currently doing camera bring‑up using MAX96712 (Deserializer) and MAX96717 (Serializer), and would like to request your support for GMSL2 configuration and validation.

System overview:

• Deserializer: MAX96712
• Serializer: MAX96717
• SoC: Qualcomm SA8295P
• Sensor: [OV2311]
• Camera information: DMS https://leopardimaging.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/LI-OV2311-VCSEL-GMSL2-055H_Datasheet.pdf
• Link type: Coax / STP
• Topology: Single camera, point‑to‑point

At the moment, the system cannot achieve GMSL2 LINK_LOCK, and the deserializer does not detect a real remote serializer. I2C access to the serializer is also not responding, which suggests the remote side may not be fully brought up yet.

Currently, we connect the GMSL2 cable to MAX96712, reset the HU, and let the MAX96712 driver run.
However, no remote serializer can be detected, and I2C scan from 0x02–0xFE does not respond to any SER address.

Before going into deeper HW debugging, we would like to confirm the recommended SerDes bring‑up flow.

Could you please advise:

• Do you have a reference SerDes bring‑up script / init sequence for MAX96712 + MAX96717?
• Is there a minimal configuration we can use to validate link, power‑up, and back‑channel first?
• Are there any mandatory steps or registers on the SER side required before link training?

After Max96712 init done, I tried to read SER with some address, but all are ERROR, can not detect any I2C add of SER
