ADV7181C Register Settings for STANAG3350 Signals

Hello ADI Team,

We are using ADV7181C video decoder with STANAG3350 B inputs. With the auto detect option register settings, when we give are seeing slight jitter on the image. But if we try signals from an NTSC based signal (STANAG 3350 C), then we are not seeing the jitter.

I was trying to do manual settings for PLL RATIO, But the table 11 in the user manual does not list a recommended value for video standard which has 625 lines.

Could you please guide me?

if you can suggest the register settings for STANAG3350 B, it will be of great help.

    But this document is not for ADV7181C. Does it matter?

    My main question was why does Table 11 in the User Manual of ADV7181C does not list a lines per frame of 625?

       Yes, We can use this application note(AN-0978) for configuring the non standard mode.

       In 'Table 11' we have the PLL Recommended settings for 625 total lines (Lines per frame 625 total lines (576 Active lines)). Please check

      Yes, you can use the last two items; I just highlighted them for 576p.

    We tried that option also still seeing some pixel jittering/shivering mainly where white to black transition is there and the frequency of vibration is varying with two frequencies at the order of a few Hz. Faster frequency for about 10s and other frequency for about 6 seconds.

    As mentioned this is visible at the boundaries where contrast is there. Will you be able to throw some lights here?

    Strangely, this is observed only for PAL signals and not observed (or not that much visible) for NTSC based signals.

    Could you please be more specific about the file. I was not able to open the .set files.

    Does the text file included in the ZIP file has this register details? It has many settings.

    I am confused about the very first register itself.

    Reg 0x00, INPUT CONTROL register, what we should select for STANAG 3350 B signals. Even though it follows PAL based timings, it is actually Component Video right? Then how should we select the CVBS composite input?
