ADV7280AWBCPZ-M resolution support

Thread Summary

The user inquires if the ADV7280AWBCPZ-M supports NTSC 640x480, PAL 640x480, and PAL 720x540 resolutions. The final answer confirms support for NTSC and PAL standard formats but not for 720x540 or any custom resolutions. The ADV7280x automatically detects and supports worldwide NTSC, PAL, and SECAM standards, and I2P functionality can be used for progressive output formats.

  • Hi,

Please refer here  ADV7280 / ADV7280-M Design Support Files  Here you can get register configuration for NTSC and PAL standard.

Kindly note that, ADV7280x part can support standard resolutions.

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

ADV728x can support only SD -- NTSC, PAL, SECAM and their variants but it cannot take 480p, VGA, or any other custom format.

Please use I2P functionality inorder to support progressive output (480p/576p Out).

As stated in previous response, It can support only standard format so it doesn't support 720x540 resolution.

Note: ADV728x has standard definition processor (SDP) and It automatically detect standard analog baseband video signals compatible with worldwide NTSC, PAL, and SECAM standards in the form of composite, S-Video, and component video.
Please note that "I2P works by 'line-doubling' i.e. outputting the same line twice and doubling the MIPI CSI-2 clock speed".
In Interlaced mode the ADV7282-M outputs with a 216 Mbps data rate (MIPI clock frequency 108 MHz).
In Progressive mode (i.e. I2P mode Enabled) the ADV7282-M outputs a 432 Mbps data rate ( MIPI clock frequency 216 MHz).

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

  • Hi ,

The ADV728x can interface with the following standard camera input formats. Please refer to the ADV728x specifications for additional details.

    • PAL B/G/H/I/D/N/M

    • PAL Combination N

    • PAL 60

    • NTSC M/J/4.43

    • SECAM

Please note that if the camera module outputs a custom or non-standard video format (for example, one with a non-standard line length), the ADV728x will not be able to lock onto that signal. For more information, refer to the “Output Video Format” section of the ADV728x User Guide.

    Thanks,
