Hi,
It is used inside the device (not as an external IF).
The TMDS EQUALIZER is set up with reference to the Reference Manual. However, depending on the individual device, instability occurs at 720p50.
I found that changing the TMDS EQUALIZER SETTINGS HDMI Map 68 85 10 to 68 85 80 improves the issue, but there is no register information in the REGISTER MAP.
Could you please tell me the following?
1. Information on the TMDS EQUALIZER register
2. How to disable (or nearly disable) the TMDS EQUALIZER
Hi,
Please find the below response for the below query,
1. Information on the TMDS EQUALIZER register?
Kindly note that, 65 85 register belongs to 'ADI recommended write' and we regard these writes as non user adjustments and hence their function is not documented. Refer this FAQ at ADI Recommended Setting - Documents - Video - EngineerZone
2. How to disable (or nearly disable) the TMDS EQUALIZER ?
As per expert comment, Normally we do not release information on the RX equalizer since to it set to the optimal setting during configuration. If you don't want the chip to respond to the TMDS inputs, can you just set the power down mode registers? this will disable the receiver at RE: How to turn off equalizer in ADV7611
Thanks,
Poornima
Hi,Poornima.
Thank you for your reply.
For "2. How to disable (or nearly disable) the TMDS EQUALIZER", I would like to enable TMDS reception but disable only the equalizer.
I would like to confirm the problem with this.

Hi,
We don't find any register which can disable TMDS equalizer.
But by using this 'EQ_DYN_EN' register we can put the equalization into static mode (Equalization is static, not totally turned off).
Also could you please try setting the "0x68 0x85 from 0x10 to 0x80" in order to disable the TMDS equalization but i am not sure how this will work out.
Thanks,
Poornima
Hi,Poornima.
Thank you for the valuable information.
I'll check if there are any problems with other resolutions.
