Power calculations when the device in Power down mode

Category: Hardware
Product Number: ADV7181CBSTZ, ADV7181C

Hello Team

This is krupanand from BAE Systems. We are using following decoder IC in my product.

Part Number: ADV7181CBSTZ

I am trying calculate the Active power and Power-down calculations.

My question is related to Power down calculations for this IC. I found the power down current in datasheet is 2.25mA. But there four different supplies (DVDD (1.8V), DVDDIO (3.3V), PVDD (1.8V) and AVDD (3.3V)).

1. what is the power down current for each supply?

2. Could you please provide the power calculations when the device in power down mode.

  • Hi,

The currents provided in the datasheet for the power down modes (Power-down mode and  green power-down mode) correspond to the sum of the currents for all for supplies (i.e. IAVDD + IDVDD + I DVDDIO + IPVDD).

Kindly refer below snap for Power down calculations and Individual supply currents in power down mode.

    Power down Calculations:
         Power down mode, supply voltages are DVDD = 1.65V, DVDDIO= 3.0V  , PVDD = 1.71v, AVDD = 3.15V .
The total supply voltage in power down mode is
        Total voltage = OVDD + DVDDIO+PVOD + AVDD = 1.65 + 3.0 + 1.71 + 3.15 = 9.51V
Total power down current = 2.25 mA
Total power down power = Power down current X Power down voltage
                                                         = 9.51 x  2.25 x 10^−3
                                                           =21.397 x 10^−3
Total power down power = 21.397 mW.

    Thanks,
