Chip availability or chip detail for AHD converter

Category: Hardware

Hi ADI,

we are looking for AHD converter, If you have any converter with following specification
1. Mipi DSI to AHD
2. HDMI to AHD
3.LVDS to AHD
etc ..

  • Hi  PoornimaSubramani

    Good Day!

What are the two chip which converter HDMI to AHD, Can you give me the Part number of them if possible give some design guidelines

    Thank you

  • Hi,

Kindly note that,We need to go for two chip solution for converting HDMI to Analog HD output.

ADV761x/ADV784x - It will convert HDMI to Pixel bus Output.

ADV800x - It will take Pixel input to AHD Output.

Here ADV761x converts input HDMI to Pixel port output and ADV800x takes the pixel port output of ADV761x as input and Outputs the AHD Video . For more information please refer the design support files of ADV761x and ADV800x.

    HDMI to Pixel bus converter
    Recommended for new design:
    ADV7842
    ADV7844
    ADV7610
    ADV7611
    ADV7612
    ADV7619
    Production:
    ADV7604
    ADV7614
    ADV7480
    ADV7481
    ADV7482
    Pixel bus to Analog HD
    ADV8005
    ADV8003
    Thanks,

  • Hi Poornima Subramani

I go through  Datasheet of ADV8005/ 8003 there they mention we can provide HDMI input in Serial Video Receiver port, If there  why we need HDMI to pixel bus Converter first and then Pixel bus to HDMI converter, Instead of that we Directly give HDMI input to  ADV8005/ 8003 to get AHD output?. Can you please give me the clarity in that.

  • Hi,

Kindly note that, It's not possible to achieve single chip solution with ADV800x part for 'HDMI to AHD' conversation Since Serial Video Rx accommodates inter-chip transfer of data over an HDMI compatible interface (for example, from an HDMI (Rx) such as ADV7850 or transceiver such as ADV7623).

Note: Serial video receiver is designed for chip-to-chip connection only and, as such, does not offer any DDC lines to facilitate HDCP or EDID operations so two chip is required for converting .

    Thanks,

    Poornima
