Hardware IC to be suggested to meet my requirement

Category: Hardware

Hi,

we want to design the schematic to meet my requirement of capturing 5 no.s of HD-SDI video and 1 no. of RGBHV video. whose technical requirements are

HD-SDI (SMPTE292M format) - 4 No.s

Resolution: 1920X1080

Frame rate: 25Hz

Scan Type: Progressive

Date rate: 1.485Gb/s

Single Ended-75Ohm

RGBHV- 1 No.

Resolution: 1024X768

Frame rate: 50Hz

Scan speed: Progressive

Single Ended: 75Ohm

HD-SDI (SMPTE292M format) - 1 No.

Resolution: 1920X1080 / 1024X768 (both resolution should support based on selection)

Frame rate: 25Hz

Scan Type: Progressive

Date rate: 1.485Gb/s

Single Ended-75Ohm

please suggest the suitable IC for our design

  • Hi,

The ADV7842 supports the decoding of a component RGB/ YPbPr video signal into a digital YCbCr or RGB pixel output stream. The support for component video includes 525i, 625i, 525p, 625p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, and 1250i standards, as well as many other SMPTE and HD standards.
Your requirement is feeding a serial data then which is nothing but SMPTE since ADV7842 can support this standard via Analog front end.

  • hi,

    for this requirement

    HD-SDI (SMPTE292M format) - 1 No.

Resolution: 1920X1080 / 1024X768 (both resolution should support based on selection)

    Frame rate: 25Hz

    Scan Type: Progressive

    Date rate: 1.485Gb/s

    Single Ended-75Ohm

whether ADV7842 can support 1920X1080 / 1024X768 (both resolution should support based on selection)

  • Hi,

As stated, Component video standards supported by the CP are 525i, 625i, 525p, 625p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, 1250i, VGA up to UXGA at 60 Hz, and Other standards.

     Regarding '1024X768' standard, Please refer ":5-3b 1024x768@70 XGA RGB in_ 444 24bit H_V_DE DAC:"  at 7725.ADV7842_Evaluation_Board_Documents.zip

  • hi,

please suggest the pin to pin replacement for the ADV7340 IC, which is NRND on your site. we have already designed the schematic with ADV7340 for Y/C to composite conversion.

  • Hi,

ADV739x encoder part is recommended for new design and It can support composite video output (It can provide support for Composite (CVBS), S-Video (Y-C), or component (YPrPb/RGB) analog outputs in either standard definition (SD) or high definition (HD) video formats) So we can use ADV739x instead ADV734x.

Also, ADV8005 includes a high-speed digital-to-analog video encoder available with and without Rovi content protection. Six high speed, Noise Shaped Video (NSV), 12-bit video DACs provide support for composite (CVBS), S-video (Y/C), and component (YPrPb/RGB) Analog outputs in either SD, ED, or HD video formats up to 1080p. But this ADV8005 part will probably be an costly (Expensive) one.

    Thanks,
