Hardware IC to be suggested to meet my requirement

Category: Hardware

Hi,

we want to design the schematic to meet my requirement of capturing 5 no.s of HD-SDI video and 1 no. of RGBHV video. whose technical requirements are

HD-SDI (SMPTE292M format) - 4 No.s

Resolution: 1920X1080

Frame rate: 25Hz

Scan Type: Progressive

Date rate: 1.485Gb/s

Single Ended-75Ohm

RGBHV- 1 No.

Resolution: 1024X768

Frame rate: 50Hz

Scan speed: Progressive

Single Ended: 75Ohm

HD-SDI (SMPTE292M format) - 1 No.

Resolution: 1920X1080 / 1024X768 (both resolution should support based on selection)

Frame rate: 25Hz

Scan Type: Progressive

Date rate: 1.485Gb/s

Single Ended-75Ohm

please suggest the suitable IC for our design

  • Hi,

ADV739x encoder part is recommended for new design and It can support composite video output (It can provide support for Composite (CVBS), S-Video (Y-C), or component (YPrPb/RGB) analog outputs in either standard definition (SD) or high definition (HD) video formats) So we can use ADV739x instead ADV734x.

Also, ADV8005 includes a high-speed digital-to-analog video encoder available with and without Rovi content protection. Six high speed, Noise Shaped Video (NSV), 12-bit video DACs provide support for composite (CVBS), S-video (Y/C), and component (YPrPb/RGB) Analog outputs in either SD, ED, or HD video formats up to 1080p. But this ADV8005 part will probably be an costly (Expensive) one.

    Thanks,

    Poornima

  • Hi,

Thank you, does ADV739X is one to one replacement of ADV734X pin to pin and package wise.

Does MAX9512 IC meets my requirement of conversion from Y/C to composite, if it is, please share the sample schematic.

  • Hi,

ADV739x/ADV734x are a family of high speed, Digital-to-Analog video encoders on Single Monolithic Chips.
ADV739x/ADV734x encoder can support for composite (CVBS), S-Video (Y-C), or Component (YPrPb/RGB) analog outputs in either standard definition (SD) or high definition (HD) video formats at https://ez.analog.com/video/w/documents/801/adv739x-design-support-files

Which ADV739x video encoder should I choose? This attached file compares all members of the ADV734X and ADV739X series of parts. These are the latest video encoder parts on offer from ADI.

Kindly note that,Currently only Maxim ATE products are supported on Engineer Zone at this time. Over the next several months, you will see more Maxim products being supported in Engineer Zone. Note: MAX9512 video filter amplifier with SmartSleep and Y/C mixer is ideal for portable media players (PMPs), portable DVD players, and set-top boxes (STBs). The inputs can be directly connected to the digital-to-analog converter (DAC) outputs. The dual reconstruction filters remove high-frequency signals above 6.75MHz. The Y/C-to-CVBS mixer creates a composite video signal from luma and chroma.

    Thanks,

    Poornima
