ADV7513 - Do you need to configure using I2C?

Category: Hardware
Product Number: ADV

Hi all!

I'm looking at the ADV7511/13 but it looks like you have to configure the device using I2C, despite being able to configure (some) of the settings using pins. Is there a way for it to 'just figure out the resolution by itself' or do you have to use I2C?

Thanks!

  • Hi!

Thanks for the reply. Not really what I was looking for though but appreciate the reply. Basically was wondering if the ADV would just be able to pick up the frequency from DE and H/V Sync, which doesn't seem to be the case.

Most likely going with an FPGA but the audio bit seems to be a bit more involved.

    Again, thanks for the reply!

  • Hi,

ADV would just need I2C to be able to pick up the resolution from DE and H/V Sync

The term 'scripts' refers to a sequence of register writes over I2C to the target for configuration purposes.

Please ensure with the above things and get back to us if further clarification is required on this.
