adv748x ttl input

Thread Summary

The user inquires about using TTL input in the ADV7481 and whether the driver needs to be changed. The ADV7481 has an 8-bit bidirectional TTL port that can be configured as an input or output but not simultaneously. When configured as an input, data can be routed to the 4-lane MIPI CSI-2 Tx. The TTL output cannot be used simultaneously with MIPI CSI-2 transmitters. The user should refer to the ADV748x Hardware Manual and the provided scripts for TTL input configuration.

  • Hi,

Please refer Page 222 in ADV748x_HardwareManual_RevPrB_2014-07-11.pdf for more details on TTL input/output.

    • The ADV748x features an 8-bit bidirectional TTL input/output port which does not support any external sync signals.
    • Since there is a single 8-bit TTL port on the ADV748x, it is not possible to simultaneously use the port in input and output modes.
    • When configured as an output, the TTL port supports output from either the SDP or the combination of the HDMI/MHL and CP blocks.
    • When configured as an input, the TTL port allows data to be routed to the 4-lane MIPI CSI-2 Tx.

Also note that on ADV7480, ADV7481 and ADV7482, it is not possible to simultaneously output data on the TTL output interface while outputting data on any of the MIPI CSI-2 transmitters.

But ADV7481 and ADV7482 can output data on CSI-TXA and CSI-TXB simultaneously.

Please check the scripts that are available for TTL at ADV7480 Required Settings
