ADV7280A & Cypress EZ-USB FX3 USB

Category: Hardware
Product Number: ADV7280A

Hello, I'm a video artist with some experience mucking around with microcontrollers and C, and want to recreate vintage video mixers like the Panasonic MX10.

For this, I'd like to attempt connecting an ADV7280A & Cypress EZ-USB FX3 USB - with the goal being to simply stream the raw pixels from the ADV7280A over USB3.0. Then a software component would perform the rest (de-bayerisation if needed, piping pixels into FFMPEG).

Is anyone able to tell me what level of work would this take? And what sort of resources are available?

The driver in the Linux kernel seems to be for interfacing into a V4L2 device, on a singleboard computer with a CSI-2 lane.

However via the Cypress EZ-USB FX3 USB - would it be simple to interface with the ADV7280A and stream those pixels back out over USB?

Thanks!
