Request to suggest suitable IC/chip for processing of HD-SDI analog video

Hi,

  ADI does not have any direct Analog to HD-SDI Converter.

  Please use any ADV part for converting Analog into parallel bus video stream.  Then by using "Semtech SDI transmitter" chips can convert the parallel bus video into a SDI stream.

  There are 2 basic items that need to be defined,

     1) What is the color space and bus format that the ADV part can output that the SDI transmitter chip can input.  They must match
     2) What is going to initialize both parts on power up and respond to format changes.

  Please review Semtech GS2972 documentation to understand the SDI transmitter/Receiver Input requirements.

  Did you mean 'SMPTE295M analog input' right ? 

  If So, ADV7842 can support SMPTE295(HD-SDI) analog input.

I have gone through ADV7842 datasheet, but i didnt find any support for HD-SDI interface. please elaborate where it is fed or connect to ADV7842 pin out details.

Your requirement is feeding a serial data then which is nothing but SMPTE since ADV7842 can support this standard via Analog front end.

Note that, A standard analog component script should be used with the following changes.

   It is recommended to use a VID_STD  of 0x16.

   CP Map 0x69 should be set to 0x00

   CP Map 0x7F should be set to 0x11.

Please note that, SDI interface port will not be available in ADV7842 part.

this means i can connect HD-SDI to any of AIN pin. Is my understanding is correct.
