Use ADV8005 to distribute 4K30p of HDMI.

Category: Software
Product Number: ADV8005

Hello.

I would like to know the value of the register to be set in ADV8005.

Environment

HDMI Input(3840x2160p30)

HDMI output(3840x2160p30) x 2 : distribution

HDCP off

Looking at UG-707, on p. 36, if I use Bypass for Mode 9, are there not many other HDMI RX input register settings?
If there is a reference setting, please let me know.
The 4K60pYC420 settings for AN-1299 are listed. Is it OK if I use this?

Best regards.

  • Hi,

Please ensure with below register setting for selecting both Tx1 & Tx2 port.

Also make sure whether primary and secondary VSP bypass been enabled. Please refer below snap for your reference.

Yes you can (The scripts used for this testing been included in this application note).

ADV8005 and ADV7625/ADV7626/ADV7627 products have been tested and verified using 4k × 2k at 60 Hz 4:2:0 formatted video.

Note: ADV8005 Tx source termination disabled if the ADV8005 Tx TMDS clock frequency is less than or equal to 165 MHz
ADV8005 Tx source termination enabled if the ADV8005 Tx TMDS clock frequency is greater than 165 MHz
Therefore, for 4k x 2k, Tx source termination should be enabled on the ADV8005 HDMI Tx output.

    Thanks,

    Poornima

  • Dear Poornima.

    Thank you for your answer.

I will try with the register you gave me.

By the way, I found out that Tx source termination should be Enable if it is above 165MHz.

By making this termination Enable, do you mean the internal register of the AD8005?
Or are you talking about the RX-side termination beyond that?

I found the description on p. 241 of UG-707, but the register is not shown.

    Best regards.
