What is the difference between "ADV7610BBCZ-P" and "ADV7610BBCZ"

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: ADV7610

I am currently using "ADV7610BBCZ-P" and am considering switching to "ADV7610BBCZ".
If the HDCP function is not used after changing to "ADV7610BBCZ", is it necessary to change the register settings?

  • Hi,

If the HDCP function is not used after changing to "ADV7610BBCZ", is it necessary to change the register settings?

No, Register settings are not required if you are changing from Non-keyed part (ADV7610BBCZ-P) to Keyed part (ADV7610BBCZ) .

For example If the source transmits the unencrypted data then the device can able to display the video (i.e When source outputs Un-protected video the ADV7610 part will work just fine, either in HDMI or DVI).

But if you are changing from keyed part (ADV7610BBCZ) to non-keyed part (ADV7610BBCZ-P), Here you will get a snow video for encrypted content (i.e source transmits protected content,  ADV7610BBCZ-P will not have any valid keys to decrypt the video, then it will output 'snow' ).

    Thanks,

    Poornima
