About AP1_OUT of ADV7625

Hi.

Please tell me about ADV7625.

I set the AP1_OUT port pins individually using the tristate_ap1_out_x [7:0] control register.

I'd like to use the AP1_OUT4 port, but the port couldn't communicate as I2S data.

The AP1_OUT port 0 and 1 were working as I2S data and I could measure their waveform.

Could you help me?

      'AP1_OUT4' should output I2S data , Please make sure whether you are in I2S mode.

       

    Also make sure this corresponding bit - TRISTATE_AP1_OUT_X[4] = Tristate AP1_OUT[4] pin should be '0' in register TRISTATE_AP1_OUT_X[7:0] (0x9D).

    Thank you for your answer.

    I checked out I2S mode for AP1_OUT4 port but I didn't confirm the waveform as I2s data.

    I understand that Tristate AP1_OUT[4] pin should be '0' in register.

    Which device address is 00 or EC?

    I executed in the following steps.

    ①used script file (ADV7625-26-27_Ver1.0)

    ②selected HDMI Splitter Mode 

    ③set Tristate AP1_OUT_X

    ④set I2S out mode

  • Hi,

      By default we configured our ADV7625 part in I2S Audio extraction mode and this configuration is enough for audio port extraction.

      Please crosscheck your schematic with our reference one to check whether the AP pins are connected properly.

    I use ADV7625 Eva Board, so I think no problem about the schematic.

    I confirm the I2S data on J10 connector now.

  • Hi,

      We have been using ADV7625 part in Melody boards and in that board we could acheive the 8 channel output by using ADV7625 part.

       For your reference will prob in our Eval ADV7625 board and share you the pin details.

      J10 connector pinout is something like DSP(SHARC) processor connection.

    Could you  confirm the I2S data of AP1_OUT port [1]~[4] using Eval ADV7625.

      In Eval board i have not get any chance to verify but in Melody boards we are using ADV7625 part .

      In Melody boards, We have verified 'MCPCM to Compressed streams' using ADV7625 chip. So I am sure our ADV7625 part can support 4xI2S.

      Please make sure, Whether you are pumping multichannel stream ?

      Also make sure whether you have the enabled the register as "Audio from HDMI Rx1" (i.e if  source is connected to RX1)

    YES, below is the default mapping when i2s_spdif_map_rot=00 & i2s_spdif_map_inv =0.

    i2s_spdif_map_inv =1, it will invert the arrangements when i2s_spdif_map_rot=00 & i2s_spdif_map_inv =1.

    i2s_spdif_map_rot[1:0] - This control is used to select the arrangement of the I2S/SPDIF interface on the corresponding APx_OUT audio output port pins and the arrangement of the I2S/SPDIF interface on the audio output port pins is determined by "I2S_SPDIF_MAP_ROT".

     For example "I2S3 on AP1 or I2S0 on AP1" So depending on that you will get the channel output. 

     I2S0/SPDIF0 I2S audio (Channel 1, Channel 2)/SPDIF0

     I2S1/SPDIF1 I2S audio (Channel 3, Channel 4)/SPDIF1

     I2S2/SPDIF2 I2S audio (Channel 5, Channel 6)/SPDIF2

     I2S3/SPDIF3 I2S audio (Channel 7, Channel 8)/SPDIF3

        AP1 - Front L/R

        AP2 - Sub/Cen

        AP3 - Rear L/R

        AP4 - Surround Back L/R

     Please note "i2soutmode[1:0]and i2sbitwidth[4:0]" controls are used to configure the I2S output interface for audio extraction.
