[ADV7613] Customer's HDMI interface timing and register settings.

Hi,

My customer will use ADV7613 for their project.
He has three questions about ADV7613.

Question 1:
The customer's HDMI interface timing(DE mode) is below.
Can ADV7613 support this HDMI interface timing?


This customer’s clock rate (64.5MHz – 80MHz) is within the data sheet clock rate.
So I think ADV7613 can support it.
Is this right?

Question 2:
If your answer of question 1 is yes, could you tell us how we should set registers?

We can get the script file "ADV7613-VER.1.1c.txt" as below:

The script includes two cases, which one of them is "TMDS CLK Less Than or Equal to 27MHz" and the other one is "TMDS CLK Greater Than 27MHz".
The customer’s clock rate is 64.5MHz – 80MHz in the customer's timing parameter I mentioned on question 1.
Can we use the script "##02 Full Scripts - HDMI Input_LVDS Output script TMDS CLK Greater Than 27MHz##"?
If we have to add some additional register settings for the customer's HDMI interface timing, please let us know.

Question 3:
There are following description about LVDS (oLDI) mapping on the ADV7613 Reference Manual “ADV7613-UG-907.pdf “.
 On page 5,



 On page 162,



Customer wants to know whether the "VESA mapping" is the "Alternative mapping".
It seems that the "VESA mapping" means the "Alternative mapping".
Is this right?

            Please find the below comments for your queries,

      1.  This customer’s clock rate (64.5MHz – 80MHz) is within the data sheet clock rate.
    So I think ADV7613 can support it.  

               YES,  ADV7613 receiver can supports maximum of 148.5 MHz TMDS clock frequency.

     2.  The customer’s clock rate is 64.5MHz – 80MHz in the customer's timing parameter I mentioned on question 1.
    Can we use the script "##02 Full Scripts - HDMI Input_LVDS Output script TMDS CLK Greater Than 27MHz##"?

                Yes, Customer can use the script "####02 Full Scripts - HDMI Input_LVDS Output script TMDS CLK Greater Than 27MHz##"

    If we have to add some additional register settings for the customer's HDMI interface timing, please let us know.

              The polarity of the video timing control bits(HS,VS,DE) can be configured by using below registers.

    3. Customer wants to know whether the "VESA mapping" is the "Alternative mapping".
    It seems that the "VESA mapping" means the "Alternative mapping".
    Is this right?

    The customer's interface timing is 960x1080 (Active area), This is not standard timing.
    Are there required register settings for the customer's interface timing?
    For example, CP REGISTER MAP 0x22 - 0x31, 0x7E - 0x80, 0x88 - 0xA1 and 0xA5 - 0xAC, etc.
    If these registers or other registers are required for the customer's interface timing,
    could you tell us what values we should set to the registers in addition to "####02 Full Scripts - HDMI Input_LVDS Output script TMDS CLK Greater Than 27MHz##"?

             Please let us know, By using some source customer is trying to give this non standard format(960x1080) ? If so, Its not required to configure the synchronization registers.

           ADV7613 can support non standard support as long as the pixel clock is not exceeding the part.

          Also it is possible to custom program the resolution for that the ADV7613 must expect for 'Free Run Mode1' by programming the free run line length, line count max, and interlaced registers ( If in case, customer want to generate the non standard format from the part.) .

    => Yes. The customer supposes HDMI source outputs this non standard format and ADV7613 receives that. We do not mention 'Free Run Mode'.
    The customer has not tried this non standard format(960x1080) yet.
    He wants to know the required register settings for ADV7613 for the non standard format(960x1080).
    He is going to try it after he know how he should set the registers.
    So I ask these questions.

             As per expert comment, "As long as the receiver part is not exceeding the TMDS/Pixel clock , the ADV7613 can process custom formats"
