ADV7280a Inquiries

Hi,

Customer is using the camera and the spec is shown below:

This is the spec for one of our NTSC cameras
1. 1/3 CCD sharp sensor
 2. Waterproof: IP69K
 3. Pixels: NTSC: 769( H ) X494 ( V)
 4. Resolution: 600 TV Lines
 5. Minimum Light: 0 Lux(LED ON)
 6. S/N ratio: More than 48 Db
 7. Video output: 1Vp-p 75
 8. Voltage: DC11-36V
9. View angle: 120 degree
 10. 18pcs IR LED for good night vision
11. Without gird line ,Normal image

Some questions fo ADV7280a:

1. Whether ADV7280a could support the input signal of the NTSC cameras?

2. Whether ADV7280a could support the 4 channel input signals of the cameras?

3. ADV7280a MIPI output data is ouput to the platform virtually or not?

4. ADV7280a MIPI output data is Frame By Frame or not?

    Hi,

       1. Whether ADV7280a could support the input signal of the NTSC cameras ?

              ADV728x can connect below camera input,

                    PAL B/G/H/I/D/N/M
                    PAL Combination N
                    PAL 60
                    NTSC M/J/4.43
                    SECAM
    However if this camera module is outputting a custom standard with non-standard line length then the ADV728x will not be able to lock to this video format.

        2. Whether ADV7280a could support the 4 channel input signals of the cameras ?

                  Yes,ADV7280a  can support four analog video input channels but ADV728x can only decode one video stream at a time, therefore it cannot support simultaneously input. For that you would require a part with multiple video decoders.

       3.  ADV7280a MIPI output data is output to the platform virtually or not ?

                 Yes, Virtual Channel of the ADV728x-M MIPI CSI-2 output can also be programmed to one of four values.

       4.  ADV7280a MIPI output data is Frame By Frame or not ?

               By default the ADV728x-M outputs MIPI frame start/end packets as well as line start/end packets. Further information on this is available in the MIPI CSI-2 specification.

    Note that Frame start/end packets are required by the MIPI CSI-2 specification but line start/end packets are optional.

    For the question 2, customer needs a part which supports 4 analog input simultaneously. Which part is a good option? Thanks.

    Hi,

     ADI does not make multiple input simultaneously video decoder.

     This would require multiple ADCs in one package and some form of pixel bus multiplexing to get the data out.

     Please look at some security camera application chips or security vendors.
